Reading the site
Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. Requests include technical information such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and time. This is used to deliver pages, investigate faults and protect the service. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable and secure publication. We do not use these records to build advertising profiles.
The subscription calculator runs in your browser. Sideperk does not receive or store the prices you enter.
Contact and corrections
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. MXroute provides our email service. We use correspondence to answer questions, assess submissions and investigate corrections, relying on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact the publication. For steps you request towards a commercial agreement, we may also process information to enter into or perform that contract. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.
We keep correspondence while it is needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up or dispute. We review closed enquiries and remove information no longer needed. A continuing business relationship or legal obligation may require a longer record. You can ask us about retention for your enquiry.
Signup and tracking
Newsletter signup and online submission forms are not currently enabled. Emailing us does not subscribe you to marketing. The site does not install advertising pixels or client-side analytics. We will update this notice before introducing a newsletter service or new collection features.
The private editor area uses Cloudflare Access to check the authorised editor’s email address. Its authentication cookies keep that sign-in session secure; public readers do not need an editor account.
Service providers and international processing
Cloudflare and MXroute process relevant information to provide hosting, security and email. Their infrastructure and support may process data outside the UK. Details of Cloudflare’s processing and transfer safeguards are in its privacy policy and data processing terms. MXroute’s terms and privacy information describe its service. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We do not make decisions about you using automated profiling. Contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
